BackEnd Data Engineer

PowerCommerce.Asia is the Leading E-commerce Omnichannel Enabler and Supply Chain Technology Solution – Services Company, with an open vacancy for the position: BackEnd Data Engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems / Engineering, or equivalent
• 3+ years as a Data Engineer or Backend Engineer working heavily with data
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
• Intermediate Python proficiency and hands-on experience with ETL/data processing (batch jobs, scheduled scripts, or pipeline tools)
• Experience with BI tools (AWS QuickSight / Power BI / Tableau / Looker / Metabase)
• Solid understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling
• Experience with message queues/streaming (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) is a plus
• Experience with AWS and related data services is a plus
• Intermediate Java skills & Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services is a plus
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows is a plus
• Experienced in e-commerce / SaaS / omnichannel is a plus
• Basic AI/ML project experience (personal, academic, or professional) – e.g., preparing data for models or integrating with AI/ML APIs – is highly recommended and will be a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and optimize schemas, queries, and performance for RDBMS & NoSQL databases
• Build and maintain ETL/data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple systems
• Collaborate with Data/BI and product teams to provide trusted data sources for dashboards and reports
• Implement data validation, quality checks, and monitoring to keep data accurate and reliable
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to data pipelines, APIs, and data quality
• Develop backend services and RESTful APIs in Python or Java (Spring/Spring Boot) to serve data and internal tools
• Document services, data flows, and technical decisions
